Details
Originally a sketch for a figure in St. Martin of Tours Monument in Kansas City. From the beginning it was designed as an angel that would give the illusion of flying next to the figure of a beggar who was about to receive a part of St. Martin’s own cloak. In the final version presented in Kansas the angel above was replaced by an angel playing the flute. The St. Martin of Tours Monument was erected in 1958.
